My Christmas Break Plans 2025
On Friday, my girls finished school for the year and are now off for two solid weeks of Christmas break.
Which means that I am on for Christmas break too!
I look forward to this two week break all season long, because for the majority of bloggers and influencers, October, November and December are the busiest months of the year.
You’ll correctly guess, based on the catalogs jamming up your mailbox, the increase of deal emails in your inbox and the overwhelming number of sponsored Instagram Stories popping up, that brands have their biggest marketing budgets in Q4 (because it’s when the majority of people do the most spending), so if you’re creating content online, it’s one of the busiest times of the year and the income from this quarter helps offset the times of year when marketing budgets are much slimmer.
I also get more than the usual amount of DMs and messages asking for help picking out a book for a child or whether a Yoto Player or Toniebox is better (spoiler: I’ll tell you Yoto every time!) or a reminder of what the tiny sound machine I love for travel is.
I love answering those questions and helping as much as I can – I feel like I have the best job on earth – so I’m happy to do it.
AND it is very busy.
For the last five years or so, my team and I have worked incredibly hard to get everything for the rest of the year planned ahead of time so that when my girls get out of school, I can also unplug and soak up this glorious time of year with them (and my team – all moms too! – can enjoy a break too).
I LIVE for these weeks with no schedule, no deadlines, and plenty of time to read in bed, play hours of games with the girls, and go on some adventures.
Here are my plans for this year’s Christmas Break:
My Christmas Break Plans
- Read Katherine Center’s new book. I got an advance copy of her new book The Shippers which comes out in May and I’ve been saving it for Christmas break – I cannot WAIT to read this one!
- Catch up on making family videos. I’ve got a few family videos to catch up on including our Boston trip for fall break and our trip to Mount Rushmore (and last Christmas which I definitely did not do the day after Christmas like I’d hoped to last year). Details about how I make our family videos here!
- New Year’s Eve Fondue. A few years ago, my girls started talking endlessly about our traditional New Year’s Eve Fondue (which. . . I didn’t realize was a tradition after one year), so we invited a bunch of cousins over and had a really fun New Year’s Eve. Now it truly is a tradition, so come New Year’s Eve there WILL be chocolate fondue and a big spread of dipping items.
- Start White Collar with Ani. A couple of years ago, we watched all the seasons of White Collar with Ella and now that Ani is 13, she’s anxious to have her turn. Frankly, this is my favorite show of all time, so I’m happy to watch it again and Christmas break is the perfect time to start!
- 2026 Planning Date. One of my favorite traditions during Christmas break is the day that Bart and I spend together working on our goals and plans for the upcoming year. I wrote a whole post about that here, if you’re curious. It’s such a great time for us to really think about what we want the year ahead to bring, calendar out trips, think about our business goals, and what we want our family life to look like!
- Frame all our Christmas cards. I’ve been wanting to do this for years (I have all our Halloween photos framed and I love getting them out each year) and I’d like to have a similar set of all our Christmas cards we’ve sent out over the past 15 years. I’ve had them sitting in a box for way too long!
- Plan my office makeover. My office has been about 80% done for the last 4 years. In 2026, I’d like to make it feel FINISHED (plus more user-friendly) and I’m hoping to spend a little time over Christmas break on Pinterest figuring out what I want my office to look like!
- Get a massage. I got a massage gift card from a friend for my 40th birthday back in September and you better believe I’m going to cash that in over Christmas break! I’ve got it scheduled and I cannot wait!
What’s on your list for Christmas Break? I’d love to hear how you’re spending any time off!
