What We Gave Ani For Her 13th Birthday
Earlier this week, Ani turned thirteen!
She went into middle school this fall and has crushed it in Mandarin (which is especially impressive because she missed two years of it when she left an immersion school and then picked it back up last year with a tutor during homeschool)
She loves crafts and puzzles and listens to more audiobooks than I could ever dream of being able to fit in!
We celebrated her special day with breakfast in bed and a coloring and hot tub birthday party with friends.
Here’s what she got this year as gifts:
Gifts for 13 Year Old Girls
NECKLACE
I spotted this gorgeous necklace earlier this year and knew it’d be perfect for Ani’s 13th birthday (my parents gave me a nice piece of jewelry for my 13th birthday and my grandparents gave my mom one, so it’s a nice family tradition).
EMMA M LION SWEATSHIRT
This was the most fun gift to pick out and I looked at lots of fun options on Etsy before landing on this one! She’s worn it pretty much every day since her birthday and I’m so happy she loves it!
ENGRAVING PEN
Bart picked this out for Ani (he’s a much more fun gift giver than I am) and she was using it five minutes after she opened it. Perfect gift for tweens and young teens!
VIOLIN MUSIC
Ani started taking violin lessons this year after years of asking and she’s loving it! Ella picked this out for Ani and it has been so fun to see her start learning some of the songs already.
FAIRY LIGHTS
This was something on Ani’s Christmas wishlist but she didn’t have to wait for the big day because Star made her wishes come true with them for her birthday. They’re strung up in her room and give it such a festive glow!
ZIG ZAG HEADBANDS
This was Tally’s gift (off Ani’s wishlist) and they’ve been a huge hit. And they’d be perfect for stocking stuffers!
WIRE JEWELRY KIT
My sister said her nieces have been very into wire jewelry making this year and she got Ani a set who has been making rings and necklaces constantly all week long. This is new to me and they are so pretty!
THE LITTLE MERMAID
Bart’s parents always give the grandkids a book for their birthdays and this beautiful gilt-edged copy of classic stories is absolutely right up her alley!
BUBBLE MONOGRAM NECKLACE
This pretty necklace from my parents was the perfect companion to the necklace we gave Ani – she’s been wearing them layered since she got them!
